How good is the Wi-Fi in Vietnam?

  1.  Internet service and availability in Vietnam has improved dramatically over the past decade. Most hotels and cafes geared towards tourists offer free WiFi and it is quite reliable.
  2. Expect speeds that are fast enough for essential uses like Google Maps, ride-hailing apps, Google Translate, etc., but don't expect to stream HD Netflix anywhere other than a luxury hotel!
  3. Pocket wifi rentals are a great way to stay connected if you plan to.

What's the best way to get around Vietnam?

  1.  For travelers, the three most practical travel options include trains, buses, or domestic flights between major cities and domestic airports.
  2.  Trains such as the North-South Railway connect Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City with stops along the coast. They are scenic and affordable.

  3. Modern buses such as Sleeper Buses and Limousines conveniently service popular routes.
  4. Many low-cost airlines such as VietJet, Bamboo Airways and Vietnam Airlines operate short routes between major destinations at reasonable prices if booked early.
  5. Other modes of transport such as motorbike rentals or private cars with drivers can also be booked at your convenience.

Things that tourists should bring when traveling in Vietnam :

  1. Lightweight, breathable clothing – Vietnam can be humid year-round. Think lightweight cotton, linen, etc. Easy-to-layer items are ideal.
  2. Raincoat or compact travel umbrella
  3. Comfortable walking shoes
  4. Universal travel power adapter
  5. Prescription medications in original packaging
  6. Copies of passport, visas, travel documents
  7. Healthy snack options like trail mix, protein bars, etc. Local cuisine can be high in carbs and oils
  8. Light jacket or hoodie for overly air-conditioned interiors
  9. Batik shirt or loose skirt if planning to visit temples where shoulders and knees may need to be covered
  10. Motion sickness cure if travelling on winding roads
  11. Biodegradable sunscreen to protect skin outdoors
  12. Mosquito repellent spray for some locales
  13. Collapsible water bottle to refill on the go
