Transportation to Hoi An

Hoi An is located in Quang Nam, but the nearest airport is in Da Nang. Currently, airlines such as Vietnam Airlines, Jetstar, and Vietjetair operate routes from Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi to Da Nang. The average round-trip fare for one person from Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang is about 1.5 million VND. You should purchase tickets early to get good prices and convenient departure times.

There are train routes from Hanoi or Saigon to Da Nang (North-South route). Ticket prices vary depending on the type of train and seat.

Upon arriving at Da Nang airport, you can choose to take a shuttle bus from the airport, or travel by bus, taxi, or private car to the center of Hoi An. Those who prefer freedom of movement can rent a motorbike from Da Nang to enjoy Hoi An, at a cost of about 150,000 VND per day.

If taking the bus, you can catch route No. 01 Da Nang - Hoi An, which runs from 5:30 AM to 5:50 PM daily with a fare of 20,000 VND per person. If traveling with three or more people and wanting quick transportation from the airport directly to Hoi An, you should call a taxi or shuttle bus with prices starting from 250,000 VND per trip.

For getting around Hoi An, you can use bicycles or motorbikes rented from the hotels or homestays where you are staying. Bicycle rental costs about 30,000 VND per day, while motorbike rental is 120,000 VND.

Travel Tips for Hoi An

Do not ride motorcycles into the ancient town.

When visiting popular tourist attractions, although crowded, most people patiently wait to purchase their tickets. Please queue orderly and wait your turn instead of pushing and shoving.

Hoi An is a World Cultural Heritage site, renowned for its numerous ancient structures, temples, and assembly halls. It is highly inappropriate to dress immodestly or offensively when visiting.

Avoid traveling during the rainy season.

While bargaining is common when shopping, try to avoid doing so if you are the first customer of the day.

There's no need to wake up too early, as the day here can start a bit later.
